The Preston Queen’s County Endowment provides financial assistance in the form of fee remission to deserving Protestant pupils from County Laois (formerly Queen's County) who attend Wilson's Hospital School (WHS) or other secondary schools in the Republic of Ireland under Protestant management.
Purpose
The endowment aims to support capable and motivated students who require financial help to access and continue a high-quality secondary education in a Protestant ethos environment. It encourages educational opportunity and continuity for qualified pupils from Laois.
Eligibility Criteria
To be considered, applicants must:
- Be resident in County Laois
- Be of the Protestant faith
- Demonstrate academic capability and financial need (assessed during review)

All applications are reviewed annually by the Wilson’s Hospital School Board of Governors.
Successful applicants are notified in June, in time for the following academic year.
